Vacuum arc-extinguishing chambers
Vacuum arc-extinguishing chambers The vacuum arc-extinguishing chambers (VAC) are the core elements of vacuum switchgear and vacuum contactors. The VAC-based vacuum switchgear/contactors are environment-friendly and very reliable equipment, where the extinguishment of electric arc is made on the account of the contactors’ moving within the high ambient vacuum (under 10-5÷10-6 mm of mercury column). The vacuum-based arc-extinguishment enables the development of switching/commutation equipment intended for coal-mining, chemical, and petroleum industries. Such equipment can also find application in the public utilities and related areas. Nowadays, Generator State-run Company serially produces two types of the high-voltage VAC. Simultaneously, the company is currently preparing to start manufacture of two new types of the high-voltage VAC as well as four new types of the low-voltage VAC. All of these devices have been developed by Generator on the basis of national patents and do not yield to the respective foreign-made similar products.
